KNOXVILLE – Only a few hours after being added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Top 10 Most Wanted list, an inmate who escaped from the Cocke County Jail is back in custody.
Ezekiel Lee Thompson (DOB 5-10-92) was wanted by the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to face charges of Felony Escape, Aggravated Assault, and Reckless Endangerment. Those charges stem from an incident that occurred Thursday morning when Thompson assaulted a corrections officer and fled the jail on foot.
This evening, authorities received information that Thompson had been spotted walking along Lincoln Avenue in Newport. A short time later, he was located and arrested by a Cocke County deputy.
