Cumberland County Sheriff's Department Investigating Pleasant Hill Homicide.

On January 21, 2018, at approximately 2:24 PM, the Cumberland County E911 received a telephone call requesting a welfare check at 423 Seagraves Rd. in the Pleasant Hill COmmunity of Cumberland County. The request was made by a family member to check on the welfare of Albin Buechel who lives at the address.

Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Deputies arrived at the residence located at 423 Seagraves Rd. at approximately 2:53 PM and discovered a male subject lying deceased on the floor inside the residence.  As deputies checked for signs of life and observed the scene, it was believed the manner of death was possibly the result of a homicide.

Investigators with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the district attorney's office of the 13th Judicial District shortly arrived on the scene and began processing the crime scene and conducting an investigation.  The identity of the deceased subject has been confirmed to be Albin Von Buechel age: 71.  Shortly after the investigation began it was confirmed that the cause of death was a homicide. The victim has been transported to the State of Tennessee Medical Examiners Office for autopsy.  A possible suspect has been into this homicide investigation has been identified but cannot be released at this time.  The investigation into this homicide is active and ongoing.

Estranged Husband Indicted, Charged in Connection to Wife’s 2016 Murder, awaiting extradition.

CHATTANOOGA – In a joint investigation conducted alongside the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained an indictment for a Grundy County man in connection to his wife’s homicide.

On May 1, 2016, at the request of 12th District Attorney General Michael Taylor, TBI Agents joined the investigation into the death of Samantha Chandler, shortly after deputies found the body of the 26-year-old woman off of Ross Creek Road in Gruetli-Laager.
On Monday, authorities presented facts gathered during the investigation to the Grundy County Grand Jury, which subsequently returned an indictment, charging Daniel Chandler (DOB 9-19-88) with one count of First Degree Murder. On Tuesday afternoon, deputies with the Walker County, Alabama Sheriff’s Department arrested Chandler without incident and booked him into the county’s jail, where, at the time of this release, he remained in custody awaiting extradition to Tennessee.

TBI Seeks Public’s Assistance in Investigation of 2006 Memorial Day Homicide

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department are asking for the public’s assistance in providing information about a homicide that took place on Memorial Day 11 years ago.

At the request of then-17th District Attorney General Mike McCowan, TBI Special Agents were requested to work with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department in investigating the homicide of 79-year-old Hosea “Junior” Prince. The Mimosa resident was found deceased behind shrubs in his front yard on May 30th, the morning after Memorial Day, in 2006. Mr. Prince lived at 445 Mimosa Road, and was last seen doing yard work around 6:00 p.m. on that Memorial Day, May 29, 2006.

TBI Special Agents and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department are seeking the public’s help in gathering any information that can help them solve the murder of Mr. Prince.

There is a reward up to and including $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible for the murder of Hosea “Junior” Prince. If you have any information about this homicide, including people or vehicles who may have been seen on or around the property on Memorial Day in 2006, please call Lincoln County CrimeStoppers, at 931-433-STOP (7867).

Arrest made in Deck Road body discovery. Man charged.

An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, with the assistance from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, the Cookeville Police Department and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, has resulted in the indictment of a Jackson County man on a murder charge.
At the request of 13th District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway, on December 18, 2016, TBI Special Agents began investigating the discovery of a body on a logging road off Deck Road in western Cumberland County. The victim was ultimately identified as Donna Roam of Sparta. During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that led them to a suspect and location in Jackson County, at which time 15th District Attorney General Tommy Thompson’s office also became involved. The investigation led Agents to Bobby Dale Haney as the individual responsible for Donna Roam’s death.
On Friday, the Jackson County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Haney with one count of First Degree Murder. Early Saturday morning, Haney was arrested during a traffic stop by Jackson County deputies. He was booked into the Jackson County Jail and is being held without bond.
