We have posted a poll asking readers about what they would like to see happen to the Minister's Tree House on Beehive Lane in Crossville.  It is also known as the World's Largest Tree House as well.

The property has been put up for sale and some have said on social media that the city and/or county should buy the property and fix the structure to allow visitors again.  The property is listed at $1.5 million and it is not known what repair of the tree house would cost.

Farm Service Admisntration Photos of the Cumberland Homesteads from 1935

A number of government-paid photographers spent time at the Cumberland Homesteads in the 1930's taking photos of the people and the community and the work being done.  All these photos are from the Library of Congress.  Most of these photos do not have the photographer identified but one does.  The lady running the spinning wheel below is by FSA photographer Ben Shahn.

The Homesteads project started in 1934 and by the time it was wrapped up some 251 houses had been built with the help of those chosen to participate in the program.  The barns were built first and the families lived in them until their houses were completed.

Amazing Wednesday evening August 2nd sunset and rainbow at the same time in Crossville!

Wednesday evening August 2nd was a spectacular sunset and at the same time a rainbow as a light shower came through the area.

To the west was a sunset of clouds and yellow sky

And if you turned around you were presented with a rainbow at the exact same time!

After capturing these images, travelling down Crossville's Main Street presented a silhouette of the Palace Theatre framed by the beautiful sunset.
