Two Arrested, 150+ Pounds of Marijuana Seized in Crossville Operation

CHATTANOOGA – A joint operation by several law enforcement agencies has resulted in the arrest of two individuals accused of trafficking a large amount of marijuana into Tennessee.

On Thursday, authorities received information about a scheduled delivery to the Crossville Municipal Airport. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers discovered a small plane on the tarmac and its pilot, Dennis Howard Bonneau (DOB 12-20-70). In searching the plane, authorities discovered approximately 66 pounds of pharmaceutical grade marijuana inside the aircraft. Agents also encountered a woman inside the airport’s lobby, identified as Erin Elizabeth Reed (DOB 3-7-83), who was in possession of a bag containing approximately 90 pounds of pharmaceutical grade marijuana, along with edible marijuana products.

Agents arrested Bonneau, of Weston, Florida, and Reed, of Arcata, California, and charged each with one count of Manufacturing, Delivery, or Sale of Schedule VI. Authorities subsequently booked each into the Cumberland County Jail, where – at the time of this release – they were each being held on $500,000 bond.

Agencies participating in this operation included the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Drug Investigation Division, the Crossville Police Department, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, the Middle Tennessee High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Homeland Security Investigations.

Multi-Agency Drug Operation Yields Charges for 19 People Near Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA – A nearly two-year investigation into illicit drugs in Meigs County, conducted by several partner law enforcement agencies, has resulted in charges for 19 individuals accused of contributing to the proliferation of illicit drugs in the area.

“Yet again, with this latest effort, we’re showing TBI’s continued commitment to target the drug issues impacting communities across Tennessee,” says Drug Investigation Division Assistant Director T.J. Jordan. “It doesn’t matter what type of illegal drugs you’re pedaling, or if you are a big or small fish in the drug trafficking industry, TBI Special Agents are looking for you.”

The investigation began in January 2016 and involved the TBI, the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office, the Decatur Police Department, and probation the Tennessee Department of Correction. During the investigation, authorities conducted multiple, undercover stings to identify potential targets contributing to illicit drug activity, mainly involving methamphetamine, across Meigs County. The Drug Task Forces in the 9^th and 10^thjudicial districts and the McMinn County Sheriff’s Office provided additional support throughout the investigation.

“I appreciate all the hard work of all agencies involved in helping to fight the drug problem in Meigs County,” said Sheriff Jackie Melton. “The Sheriff's Office makes it a high priority to target drug dealers in our community because of other crimes, such as burglaries and thefts, are directly related to drugs, as well as overdoses from the drugs themselves and the families hurt by their loved ones’ addictions.”

“This is another step in our common goal to decrease illegal drug activity in our community,” said Chief Monty Rowland, of the Decatur Police Department. “An operation of this nature requires cooperation among several different agencies. Thanks to all who made this a success.”

“We appreciate the efforts of all the agencies participating in these cases and operation,” said 12^th District Attorney General Russell Johnson. “We hope these cases, and others to follow, will signal to drug traffickers and offenders that we will continue to disrupt their activities at any actionable opportunity.”

On Monday, the Meigs County Grand Jury returned indictments, charging 18 people in connection to the
ongoing investigation. A warrant has also been secured for a 19^th individual in connection to a probation
violation. Today, authorities conducted an extensive roundup in an effort to bring the individuals into custody. At the time of this release, 11 of the 19 had been arrested and booked into jail:

• Sheena McHone (DOB 5-23-89, Ten Mile, TN): 1 count of Manufacturing, Delivery, Sale, or Possession with Intent to Deliver.
• Travis Joe Edwards (DOB 9-30-77, Niota, TN): 1 count of Manufacturing, Delivery, Sale, or Possession with Intent to Deliver, 1 count Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, 1 count of Schedule II Drugs: Cocaine, 2 counts of Simple Possession.
• William Skinner (DOB 8-26-66, Decatur, TN): 1 count of Schedule II, 1 count of Manufacturing, Delivery, Sale, or Possession with Intent to Deliver, 1 count of Aggravated Assault, 6 counts of Reckless Endangerment.
• Ronald Dale Britt (DOB 7-18-73, Georgetown, TN): 3 counts of Manufacturing, Delivery, Sale, or Possession with Intent to Deliver.
• Judy Moats (DOB 3-22-59, Decatur, TN): 2 counts of Manufacturing, Delivery, Sale, or Possession with Intent to Deliver.
• Jennifer McKenzie (DOB 5-15-76, Athens, TN): 1 count of Possession of Methamphetamine for Resale, 1 count of Possession of Schedule IV for Resale, 1 count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. (Authorities booked McKenzie into the McMinn County Jail.)
• Amanda Brooke Ward (DOB 2-3-90, Decatur, TN): 1 count of Manufacturing, Delivery, Sale, or Possession with Intent to Deliver, 1 count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
• Jason Dills (DOB 7-5-85, Ten Mile, TN): 1 count of Initiating the Manufacture of Methamphetamine, 1 count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Joint Drug Operation in Pickett County Nets Seven Arrests

TBI Release:

COOKEVILLE – A joint investigation with Special Agents of the Drug Investigation Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Pickett County Sheriff’s Office and other area law enforcement agencies has resulted in the indictments and arrests of multiple individuals on various drug-related charges.

In February and March, TBI DID Agents joined investigators with the Pickett County Sheriff’s Office, the Middle Tennessee Appalachia HIDTA (High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) Task Force and the 13^th Judicial District Drug Task Force in investigating various narcotics violations in Pickett County. Through the course of the investigation, Agents and investigators developed information that identified multiple individuals who were involved in the sale of drugs.

On August 15^th, the Pickett County Grand Jury returned indictments, charging seven individuals with a variety of drug-related offenses. Over the past several months, those individuals were arrested and booked into the Pickett County Jail. Those charged include:

• Travis John Stowers (DOB 5-15-1990, Byrdstown, TN. Bond $30,000): 1 count Sale of Schedule II
• Latoshia Nicole Wallace (DOB 9-13-1996, Monticello, KY. Bond $60,000): 2 counts Sale of Schedule II
• Joey Robert Cook (DOB 10-17-1968, Byrdstown, TN. Bond $40,000): 1 count Sale of Schedule III
• Shelley Patterson (DOB 4-29-1971, Monroe, TN. Bond $55,000): 2 counts Sale of Schedule III
• Jessica Dawn Daley (DOB 5-15-1990, Byrdstown, TN. Bond $50,000): 1 count Sale of Schedule II, 1 count Sale of Schedule III

Indictments Lead to Search Warrant and Drug Seizure from CPD Narcotics Investigation

Crossville Police Department has released the following information:

On Tuesday May 9, 2017, following months of Crossville Narcotics Detective’s long term investigations on illegal Narcotics Distribution, criminal indictments were handed down on multiple suspects in Crossville and Cumberland County. Following in-depth investigations and undercover operations, these indictments are another example of the Crossville Police Department’s resolve to eliminate illegal narcotics in our community. Many of the indictments were successfully served.

Additionally, there was an execution of a search warrant and the seizure of cash and illicit narcotics at 94 Lakyn Drive, while indictments were being served on the residents. This is the second such drug related search warrant executed at this location, involving the residents, within the last year.

Indictments were served along with a search warrant. Multiple narcotics and firearms were seized. Additional felony charges, on the Ashburn’s, are pending the outcome of the completed investigation and their presentation to the Cumberland County Grand Jury.

Four additional people were named, in the recent indictments and are currently incarcerated in various penal institutions.

On March 3, 2017 an undercover narcotics operation led to the service of a Search Warrant at 249 Lee Circle, in Crossville, TN. Undercover Narcotics Investigation Leads to Search Warrant Execution by Police

On Monday February 13, 2017, Crossville Police Department Narcotics Detective’s most recent efforts led to a raid and search warrant service on a residence located at 1039 Browns Creek Drive, in Crossville, TN. Following an in-depth investigation and undercover operations, this residence, located in Cumberland County, is the latest example of the Crossville Police Department’s resolve to eliminate the sale of illicit narcotics within our community.

On Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at approximately 6 am City of Crossville Police Officer Scott Van Ruden responded to the report of a traffic crash on US Hwy 127 North, at The Cracker Barrel Restaurant. Upon the officer’s arrival, one of the parties involved in the crash was unable to be located. After the arrival of a K-9 unit, a check of the abandoned vehicle’s exterior was made. The K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the 2007 Dodge Charger, with Texas tags. Following a search of the vehicle, 9 large shrink wrapped bundles, of what is believed to be vacuum sealed marijuana, weighing approximately 22lbs each, were recovered. The street value of the bundles is estimated at approximately $22,000.00 each.

According to witness reports and video surveillance, the driver was a dark skinned, possibly Hispanic, male, 25-35 years old, medium build, wearing a blue/white striped baggy shirt and blue jeans. The suspect was carrying a brown bag/back pack, and is believed to have left in a late model, White, Hyundai 4 door car, possibly a Sonata. 

Congratulations to the officers involved. This seizure ensures that over 200 pounds of illicit narcotics will never hit our streets.  It also serves to solidify the Crossville Police Department’s resolve to keep the citizens and visitors of our community safe. Job well done!

A local resident, Christian Alexander Mena Lopez, 59 Sparta Drive, was the subject of an ongoing investigation the sale of illicit narcotics. On July 27, 2016 a joint narcotics operation led to the service of a Search Warrant at 153 Obed Street, in Crossville, TN.   Crossville Police Department Narcotics Detectives were working together with the 13^th Judicial Drug Task Force, the HIDTA / TBI Drug Task Force, the Office of the District Attorney General, Crossville Housing Authority and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office in the execution of a search warrant at an illegal narcotics distribution operation, located in government housing, within 680 feet of a daycare.

This search warrant comes after in-depth undercover investigations and drug purchases led to the discovery of the illegal narcotics operation. This illegal activity occurred at 153 Obed Street, near Home Away From Home Head Start and Day Care. Following the search of the property; Cash, illegal narcotics and an additional wanted person were discovered.

Following the operation, criminal indictments will be sought on the resident Henry Wilson - 45 years old, at an upcoming session of the Cumberland County Grand Jury.

A neighbor, Ashley England - 20 years old, was found in the residence and had an active Failure to Appear arrest warrant, with a 10 day hold, on file in Cumberland County. England was arrested and transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center, where she is awaiting a court appearance.
