Crossville City Council Meets Tuesday for January Regular Meeting.

The Crossville City Council holds their first regular meeting of 2019 on Tuesday, January 15 at Crossville City Hall.

In addition to the regular meeting at 6 PM, the council will meet as the audit committee at 5:15 PM in the third-floor conference room. Both meetings are open to the public.

The agenda is not long and includes several routine purchases as well as renewal and amendment to the Parks and Recreation concessions contract. Also on the agenda is a discussion of Transportation Alternatives Grant administrative and engineering services on the project that will cover downtown Crossville Sidewalks. The city finance department is requesting approval to remove a number of item from the depreciation schedule at Garrison Park.

All of these items are listed under the consent agenda and were discussed at the council's work session last week.

Council will consider assigning a vehicle to the Crossville Fire Department's medical director, Dr. Mark Fox. The vehicle would allow Dr. Fox to respond to emergencies, something he has had difficulty doing recently and likely could have kept the alleged shooter in last year's school bus garage shooting from being transported by helicopter to Chattanooga by a basic examination.

With one Fire Department officer getting a new vehicle the older vehicle being replaced would most likely be assigned to Dr. Fox.

Council will also recognize Crossville Firefighter Taylor Raines with a distinguished service award. Raines has been on active military duty for the last year.
