Crossville Firefighter and Marine Reservist Recognized for his Service in Afghanistan

The City of Crossville recognized Marine Corporal Taylor Raines for his service over the last 12 months including service in Afghanistan.   

Raines is a Crossville Firefighter and has returned to his duties after serving a year of active duty as a member of the Marine Corps Reserves.  In addition to the Award, quoted in its entirety below, city Manager Greg Wood presented Raines with a pen representing the Afghanistan Service ribbon that he made.

Award recognizing his service as a member of the
Marine Reserves. Raines serves as a firefighter
for the city of Crossville.  In addition to members
of his family, including his wife and young daughter,
numerous members of the fire departments stood with
Corporal Raines.


The Award presented to Raines said:
This Distinguished Service Award is issued to Corporal Taylor Raines on behalf of the entire City Council and the citizens of Crossville for Corporal Raines’ service, professional achievement, and sacrifice for our community and nation.

Corporal Taylor Raines Infantry Team Leader, Lima Company 3rd Battalion 23rd Marine Regiment, was activated from January 2018 to December 2018. He was deployed from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to Afghanistan from April 1, 2018 to October 19, 2018. Corporal Raines served as part of Task Force Southwest (TFSW) in Helmand and Nimroz provinces in Southern Afghanistan.

With this Award, the City of Crossville recognizes his unwavering devotion to duty for our Country and wishes Corporal Raines success in all endeavors.
