Wind Advisory Midnight Friday through 6 PM Saturday and Possible Severe Storms

WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT FRIDAY TO 6 PM CST
SATURDAY...

* WHAT...South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to around 45 mph
  expected.

* WHERE...All of Middle Tennessee.

* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 6 PM CST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.
  Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may
  result.

Some strong to a few severe thunderstorms will be possible
Saturday morning and afternoon. Main concerns will be strong
to damaging winds and possibly isolated tornadoes as one
approaches the Tennessee/Alabama Border Region.

Villageway Repairs have the road closed this afternoon

With recent flooding closing the road near the entrance to Greenbriar Subdivision off of Highway 70E several times, the city is working to alleviate the problem from happening again.  

The city is installing a larger culvert across the road and replacing a damaged culvert under the driveway bridge.  

Public Works employees said the road could be closed for most of the afternoon today January 6th.

Heavy Rain Potential Leads to Flood Watch for Much of Tennessee Mid Thursday to Friday Evening

Flooding Rains Expected Thursday and Friday...

The first storm system of 2020 will bring more heavy rain to Middle Tennessee on Thursday and Friday, with rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches expected. The highest amounts are expected across southern Middle TN. This rainfall falling so soon after the recent heavy rain last Sunday could lead to more flooding across the area.



FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON.


The Flood Watch continues for a portion of Middle Tennessee, including the following areas, Bedford, Cannon, Cheatham, Clay, Coffee, Cumberland, Davidson, De Kalb, Dickson, Fentress, Giles, Grundy, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Jackson, Lawrence, Lewis, Macon, Marshall, Maury, Montgomery, Overton, Perry, Pickett, Putnam, Robertson, Rutherford, Smith, Stewart, Sumner, Trousdale, Van Buren, Warren, Wayne, White, Williamson, and Wilson.

Fairfield Glade PD Officer DIes on Duty of Apparent Natural Causes

The Fairfield Glade Police Department released this press release

It is with great sadness that the Fairfield Glade Police Department announces the death of Officer Jerry Singleton of the Fairfield Glade Police Department. Officer Singleton passed away during his shift on December 31, 2019 of apparent natural causes. He was a dedicated Law Enforcement Officer who served in law enforcement for over 30 years. He worked for the Harriman Police Department, Kingston Police Department, Rockwood Police Department, and the Roane County Sheriff’s Office prior to working with the Fairfield Glade Police Department. Officer Singleton began working in Fairfield Glade Police Department in May of 2019.

Officer Singleton, age 53 served many decades as a public servant. This is an extremely tough day for our department. Jerry was liked by all and he had the ability to connect with everyone. “Officer Singleton died while serving and this is what he loved to do”. Funeral Arrangements will be announced at a later time. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prays during this very difficult time.
