Public’s Help Requested in Identifying Body Found in Polk County

TBI press release by Susan Niland
At the request of 10th District Attorney General Stephen D. Crump, on October 29th, Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation joined the Polk County Sheriff's Office in investigating the discovery of partially skeletonized remains found in Polk County. The discovery was made on Benton Mountain,  about four miles west of Tennessee Highway 30, just south of the Reliance community. Law enforcement officers with the Bradley County Sheriff's Office and Cleveland Police Department were also present during the investigation.

The remains were recovered by the Regional Forensic Center out of Knoxville. It has been determined that the body is that of a male, but the race and approximate height are currently unknown. Upon examination of the remains, multiple tattoos were observed on the man's legs.  A sketched drawing of the tattoos and their location on the body are below.
Law enforcement officials are hoping someone may recognize the tattoos, and to help them identify the man whose body was found last week. If you have any information that can help lead to the identity of this individual, please contact TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office at 423-338-2112, or the 10th Judicial District DA’s Office at 423-472-2179.
