On December 9th, 2017, members of the City of Crossville Police Department, Fire Department and the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office will be partnering with the Early Literacy Council to hold a 1st Responders Reading Event at the Cumberland County Courthouse Gazebo, from 2:30pm to approximately 3:15pm.
The event, designed to give children an opportunity to participate in readings from children's Christmas stories, will be held just prior to the 4:30pm Christmas parade.
Parents are encouraged to bring their children by to enjoy this first-time-ever event and have a heart-warming Christmas story sharing experience before heading off to watch the Christmas Parade.

Crossville Police and Cumberland Co. Sheriff sponsor Safe Ride Home on New Year's Eve
PRESS RELEASE
In an effort to better serve the community and to keep our roadways safe for motorists, the City of Crossville Police Department, in cooperation with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and E911, will be participating in a Safe Ride Home program this New Year’s Eve.
If you have been celebrating the New Year and would like a FREE, No-Questions-Asked, Safe Ride Home, we are only a phone call away. Just call 911, from 10 PM Dec. 31, 2016 to 4 AM Jan. 1, 2017 to speak with emergency operators, who will be standing by, to help you stay safe.
The City of Crossville Police Department will provide a Safe Ride Home to anyone who lives inside the City of Crossville, up to 1 mile outside of the City limits. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office will do the same for the residents of Cumberland County.
“These Safe Rides Home will be just that, a safe ride home. We will not be giving rides to people who are going from one party to another. Our goal is to get folks home safely and to prevent drunk driving crashes and the countless ruined lives they can cause.”

POLICE SERVE INDICTMENT FOR SALE & DELIVERY OF NARCOTICS IN DRUG-FREE SCHOOL ZONE

On Tuesday, November 15, 2016 the Crossville Police Department continued its mission to protect our community and families from the dangers of illicit narcotics. Crossville Police Department’s Narcotics Unit served an outstanding Grand Jury indictment on Cumberland Drive resident, 39 year old, Terry J. Manis.
The indictment, which was served without incident, charged two counts of Sale of Schedule II Narcotic (Oxycodone) in a Drug-Free school zone, two counts of Delivery of Schedule II Narcotic (Oxycodone) in a Drug-Free school zone and possession of a weapon during the commission of a dangerous felony. These felony charges were presented to the Cumberland County Grand Jury, following in-depth undercover operations, within the City of Crossville.
Manis’ bond was set at $40,000 for the above offenses. Assisting with the operation were Crossville Police Department, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, 13th Judicial Drug Task Force, and the HIDTA / TBI Drug Task Force.
