Vandever Area Shootings Result in Two Fatalities, Two more injured, Investigation continuing

TWO INJURED AND TWO DEAD IN OVERNIGHT SHOOTING

Crossville, TN - On March 12, 2019, at approximately 5:58 p.m. Cumberland County deputies were dispatched to Critter Creek Road regarding a call from a concerned citizen about finding a body.



Deputies arrived on the scene and discovered a body in a trash pile on a vacant lot. The scene was secured and investigators from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation were sent to the scene to conduct an investigation. 

On March 12, 2019, at approximately 10:30 p.m. another call came in concerning a shooting in the 2500 block of Vandever Road. Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and discovered multiple victims that had been shot at the scene. Tennessee Highway Patrol, Crossville Police Department also responded to the scene to assist the on-scene units. 

Cumberland County Sheriff’s Investigators and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrived on the scene and began to conduct the investigation. Law enforcement units discovered two victims at the Vandever Road scene that were wounded and one deceased. One body was found at the Critter Creek Road address. 


The names of all victims are being withheld at this time pending notification to next of kin. 

The investigation is ongoing at the time of this press release. Additional releases will be made as information becomes available.
