The outage reported at 2:20 PM and businesses along 127-N felt the effect.  According to the VEC outage map, the power was estimated to be out for 2 hours but was restored in about 30 minutes.

Hazardous Weather Outlook for Cumberland Co. remains for Sunday

After extreme weather Saturday night for Cumberland County and other areas of Middle and East Tennessee, there is still a chance of bad weather for Sunday.

The National Weather Service has a Hazardous Weather Outlook that says "Additional chances for strong to severe storms across Middle Tennessee will move in for today and tonight. Damaging winds, large hail, and localized flooding will be possible."

Very heavy damage from fallen trees has been reported in Lake Tansi area including roads blocked and power lines and poles damaged.  TRavel in the area is strongly discouraged.  County Highway crews and VEC crews are working round the clock to clean up from the storms.

Many power outages remain around Cumberland COunty.  Volunteer Energy's outage map shows over 3800 customers still without power as of 9:12 AM CDT.

Scattered power outages reported. Wind advisory in effect until 7 PM

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Cumberland Co and

parts of Tennessee.  Cumberland COunty's advisory is in effect between 10 AM

7 PM.  

As of 7 AM, Volunteer Energy was reporting some 5100 customers without power.

TIMING...From 10 AM CDT to 7 PM CDT Monday

* WINDS...Winds of 20 to 30 mph...with occasional gusts 40 to 45 mph.

* IMPACTS...Wind gusts could bring down tree limbs and shallow
  rooted trees, and could even cause a few power outages. Loose
  outdoor objects, like garbage cans and patio furniture will be
  blown over.

A Wind Advisory means that winds over 40 mph are expected. Winds
this strong may blow down a few trees or tree limbs and cause
isolated power outages. Driving may also become difficult...
especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Power outage caused by truck wreck. Power and traffic now restored.

Power was out in areas on the south side of Crossville and the Homesteads for about 30-45 minutes this morning.  The outage was caused when a tractor trailer truck caught a power line and tore down some lines along with a service pole and transformer.  Traffic through the area was rerouted through Brookhaven Subdivision for around an hour but all traffic is restored and most of the power is as well. 

Traffic was backed up in both directions on 127 south of Crossville from the 

accident scene.  It could have been much worse if the yard sale was in full force.

A power service pole that was once behind a house was ripped up and thrown across the highway by the force of the truck catching a line. 

This was the original location of the pole.  It was pulled completely down and thrown across the highway.  Note what's left of the transformer lying on the ground at left. 

Numerous emergency vehicles responded to the scene of the accident

The accident happened near the Physicians Associates office near the entrance to Brookhaven.  Traffic was diverted through the subdivision for a time.  The truck involved is at right in this photo. 

In order to get the highway reopened, members of the Crossville fire and police departments removed the damaged trim from the truck so it could be moved.
