While most of the surrounding area schools and many schools across Tennessee have closed for at least a couple of days to try and slow the spread of the contagious virus, Cumberland County Schools have remained open.
Four deaths from the flu have been reported in Cumberland County since what has been described as one of the worst flu seasons in many years started last fall.
The Cumberland County Health Department continues to offer free flu shots as long as their supply lasts and experts say the public should continue to get the flu vaccine if they haven't yet.
