Crossville City Council holds both a special called meeting and a work session Tuesday, September 4 starting at 5 PM.

The special called meeting is set for 5 PM and the work session is scheduled to start at 5:15 PM. The special called agenda includes action on mostly routine matters including second and third readings of budget amendment ordinances including adding $200,000 to the Garrison Park project budget, a budget amendment for $324,500 for the downtown sidewalk and streetlight project, closing undeveloped right of ways, along with consideration of a possible change to the Interchange Business Park site development pad project.
On the work session agenda, the council will discuss items that may end up on the regular September meeting later in the month. Council will consider more on the dog tethering issue that has been discussed previously. City Manager Greg Wood will report on recent recommendations on tethering.
Council member Pamala Harris plans to lead a discussion concerning open burning in the city. A proposed requirement for landscaping in parking lots as part of the city's tree ordinance will be discussed. The requirements, proposed by the city's urban forester, but the Crossville Planning Commission did not recommend approval of the ordinance, rather that the changes be offered as recommendations for future developments.

Council will hear about the health insurance for the coming calendar year from Blue Cross and will also discuss bridged health coverage for those under age 65 with early retirement.
Numerous purchases are on the agenda for discussion including test equipment for the water department, a computer server, re-roofing the public works building, as well as new vehicles for the code's department, water resources, and marketing departments.
