Cumberland County election results gave County Mayor Republican candidate Allen Foster a strong win over independent candidate Sandra Davis. Foster took 76 percent of the votes in the county mayor race.

In statewide races, Candidate Bill Lee took the very contested Republican Gubernatorial primary and will face Karl Dean who won the Democratic primary.
Democrat Phil Bredesen will face Marsha Blackburn for the US Senate seat being vacated by Bob Corker.
The race for the 6th District US Congressional seat will be between Democrat Dawn Barlow and Republican John Rose.
While other Cumberland County offices were decided in the May Primary, officially elected August 2 was Sheriff Casey Cox, Circuit Clerk Jessica Burgess, County Clerk Jule Bryson, Trustee Kim Wyatt, Register of Deed Judy Graham Swallows, and Road Superintendent Scott Blaylock.
