The Crossville city council approved
reopening the search for a new city manager and will accept
additional applications until January 15 before moving on toward a
final choice.
Council discussed doing some video
interviews with applicants already received.
Council member Pamala Harris brought up
the topic saying that due to a change in the dynamic of the council
she moved to to give additional applicants a chance to apply by
re-advertising the search and accepting applications through January
15, 2017. Mayor James Mayberry seconded the motion.
Mayor Mayberry said they were not
taking any of the previous applicants out of the running and said
discussion included that previous applicants would not need to
resubmit unless they wanted to update their resume.
Human resources manager Leah Crockett
was instructed to contact the previous applicants and let them know
what the council's plan was and that they did not have to reapply as
they would remain under consideration.
The motion was unanimously approved.
